A Garden for Everyone

Seattle PlayGarden is a 1-acre fully-fenced garden in the heart of Seattle.
Our mission is to provide children of all abilities
a safe, accessible, and adventurous place to play.

2022 Holiday Giving Campaign:
Help us reach our goal of $50,000 for inclusion!

Growing up with Cerebral Palsy, I was often excluded by people my age. Kids who have disabilities can have trouble making friends. But, you can always find a friend at the PlayGarden. Seeing kids happy and enjoying camp is important to me. When someone has a disability they don’t always feel that they can be themselves and not judged in society. The PlayGarden is a place for kids with (or without) disabilities to be themselves. That is meaningful to me because I often felt judged by others when I was a kid. That is not a great way to grow up. I can help kids at the PlayGarden who might have the challenges like the ones I had. I know that I belong there, and can help others feel that way too. ” –

Plan Your Visit

The PlayGarden is OPEN to visit all weekdays and weekends from dawn until dusk. Our preschool program goes from 9am-1pm M-F, and we ask that you check in with a preschool teacher if you visit during this time.

There is access to a public bathroom on the side of the Garden House. It’s maintained by Seattle Parks & Recreation, and may be locked. There is accessible load and unload parking in front of the main gate.

The chickens and ducks are out during the day to visit. Please do not feed the animals.

Private Parties and Events

The PlayGarden’s mission is to provide a space for children with disabilities. If your family is able to enjoy another park or playground, we ask that you consider a different venue so that families with disabilities have the PlayGarden available.

Before planning an event at the PlayGarden, please make sure to:

  1. Check our calendar to make sure there are no other events happening.
  2. Email our administrator to request to book an event.
  3. Make a donation to the PlayGarden to offset the maintenance costs. The PlayGarden is a small non-profit and we pay the maintenance costs for the park.
  4. Limit your use of the picnic tables to one per party. Please clean up decorations. No confetti.
  5. Pack out all of your trash, recycling, and composting.
  6. Keep the Load/Unload zone free of cars.
