Theatre in the Garden Event with Seattle Children’s Theatre

Seattle Children’s Theatre and Seattle PlayGarden are so excited to announce we will be  collaborating to bring the community a second year of Theatre in the Garden.

At the Event: 

  • Family friendly garden activities
  • An art exhibition titled showcasing art made by local artists with disabilities. All art will be an expression of the iconic phrase from the Wizard of Oz, “There’s No Place Like Home.”
  • A special spotlight performance of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
  • A super fun Story Drama workshop led by SCT’s professional teaching artists.

"There's No Place Like Home" Art Exhibition CALL FOR ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES: We are looking to comission artists with disabilities to showcase either a new or existing piece(s) of 2D or 3D art that connect to the iconic phrase from The Wizard of Oz, "There's no place like home"

There’s No Place Like Home, Art Exhibition 

 There’s No Place Like Home is an art exhibition that will feature art made by local artists with disabilities across the greater King County metro area. Art will be showcased at the Seattle PlayGarden’s Theatre in the Garden event  on My 13th in partnership with the Seattle Children’s Theatre.

 All art mediums and sizes of art welcome up to 5 ‘ x 5’.  Selected artists will be given a stipend of $250. Art will be displayed indoors. 

Support our Farmers! 

As a special guest to our celebration, WashMasks Mutual Aid Fund will be in attendance collecting items for a Heat Stress Prevention Donation Drive. Bring an item in solidarity Washington’s farmworkers to help reduce heat stress. 

What can you bring? 

•  Long-sleeve cotton t-shirts

•  Sunhats (baseball hats or straw)

 •  Cooling neck bands  

•  Protective eyewear (sunglasses or clear lenses)
